Though we have been harvesting lettuce, radishes and spring onions for some time now, today marks the beginning of the Summer. We picked our first strawberries. We have had some fabulous weather over the past month and particularly the past week. We noticed the strawberries beginning to turn from green to mild pink over the past few days and some developing to red, strawberry red. This morning we picked some. Probably still a little early, my wife said
"bring them in and put them on the windowsill to ripen a bit more"
I have not eaten them, anticipating the first bite, I do not think they will make it to tomorrow!
As you can see they didn’t last the night... Hopefully there will be a regular flow of fruit now for a couple of months.
